COL Peter W. Lichtenberger

Colonel Peter W. Lichtenberger enlisted in the Army in November 1966, and was commissioned through Officer Candidate School in 1967. He served on active duty for thirty years in various command positions at the tactical, operational, and strategic echelons of the Army. His key assignments include: serving as Platoon Leader with the 101st Airborne Division in Vietnam; a Company Commander in the 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell, Kentucky; Commander, 530th Supply & Services Battalion, Fort Bragg, North Carolina; Commander, 53d Area Support Group, US Army Europe; and Commander, 200th Theater Army Materiel Management Center, US Army Europe. Colonel Lichtenberger held a number of critical staff positions including Chief of Logistics Planning for Operation Joint Endeavor in Bosnia; Chief of Staff, 21st Theater Army Area Command, US Army Europe; and Deputy Commander, 1st Corps Support Command (Forward), Operation Desert Storm, Saudi Arabia. Colonel Lichtenberger also served as a Department of the Army Civilian in numerous positions culminating his civilian career as the Assistant Deputy Chief of Staff G-4, United States Army Europe and Seventh Army.
